Duration of the Project: March 2007 – April 2007 Location of the Project Marzes of Aragatsotn, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Shirak, Syunik, Tavush and Yerevan Donor of the Project: The Embassy of Great Britain To assure awareness rising among the voters on Election Code and to assure public participation at election processes, CCDI NGO conducted meetings in 8 marzes of Armenia and in Yerevan. Mr. Hrayr Tovmasyan, the Co-author of the Election Code of RoA, was invited as an Expert to participate at the meetings. Te participants had a chance to direct oral and written questions to the Expert. The conducted meetings were publicized by mass media organizations of the marzes: “Tsayg” and “Shant” in Shirak marz, “Khustop” and “Sosi” in Syunik marz, “Abovyan” TV channel in Kotayk marz, and the local Metsamor newspaper. “Abovyan” TV channel of Aboyan city invited the Expert to direct broadcasting. The meeting lasted for 3 hours. In total 9 meetings were conducted with a total number of 396 participants. The participants of the meeting represented different age groups of the community residents. Most of them were first time voters and women. |
